Cambridge, is really and truly beautiful.
My buddy, Pritesh's bicycle was stolen last week. While looking for a cheap deal, he commutes with "bus no.11" temporarily. Today, he walked me back from the lab at West Cambridge. His destination, Jesus College, is at the midway to my way home. "CL, you're just like a rat, sniffing out trails at Cambridge!", my buddy was amazed after following me through all the shortcuts and hidden paths leading to city centre . Meanwhile, he was stunned by the gorgeous scenery along the way; The peacefulness of Mathematical Science Center, the greenery of St. John playing field and the grandness of St. John College. I feel the same when ramble in Cambridge everyday. I am glad leading him to discover the inner beauty of Cambridge, the beauty which only can be seen from the eyes of ramblers; Neither tourists nor cyclists.
In mornings that had the inertia to the lab, I used to divert my route to colleges along Queen's Road. Porters from Clare, Trinity and King's College always approached and asked to show my student card. To them, I seemed like a tourist, busy taking photos. After enjoying the tranquility moment with ducks and geese beside the river, I was energized and continued my journey to the lab.

In the evening, I like to explore those small colleges and hunt for treasure. The treasure is the secluded garden at somewhere in the college. When I first at Christ's rear garden, WoW! this is just like the garden appeared in the musical movie "The Sound of Music"; The garden where the eldest daughter met her boy friend secretly at night and they sang, "I am sixteen going on seventeen.....". I secretly danced around the garden to the rhythm in my mind, lively and happily.
At summer nights with most of undergrads were going off, I savored the sereneness yet mysterious atmosphere while walking from St. John court to court, entering through its gateways or towers. Most parts of the college were immersed in the darkness with dim light from a few lamps at towers, ha! it appeared to be the Hogwarts School of Harry Potter!
Cambridge, is really and truly beautiful.
